About Freedom House
Our Purpose and Mission
Rescuing Mothers. Redeeming Lives.
Freedom House exists to bring hope and healing to mothers struggling with addiction, and to the children affected by it. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered, long-term recovery that breaks the cycle of addiction and equips families to thrive.
We believe true freedom is found in Jesus Christ. Through a combination of structured discipleship, professional counseling, job training, parenting support, and holistic care, we help women recover emotionally, spiritually, and practically, laying the foundation for generational change.

Founder's Vision and History
Freedom House began with a simple but powerful conviction: that mothers recovering from addiction shouldn’t have to choose between healing and being with their children.
In 2005, Ann Reilly, after years of working with women in crisis, recognized a gap in recovery services. Most programs separated mothers from their children, leaving families fractured and healing incomplete. Ann dreamed of something different: a safe, Christ-centered place where women could recover alongside their children, rebuild their lives, and experience real transformation through the power of God.
That vision became reality in 2006, when Freedom House opened its doors in Greensboro, North Carolina. From the beginning, the heart of the ministry has been to restore families, renew hope, and raise up a new generation, free from the grip of addiction.
Today, Freedom House continues to grow, but the mission remains the same: rescuing mothers, redeeming lives, and creating generational change through Christ.
What Sets Our Christ-Centered Program Apart
Our Vision for the Future
Freedom House was never meant to be a quick-fix program, it’s a long-term vision for restored families, sustainable healing, and generational transformation. That vision took a major step forward in 2017 when, through extraordinary community support, we purchased 110 acres of farmland in Summerfield, NC.
Since then, we’ve built five residential homes, launched a working farm, and expanded our job training programs. Our long-term goal is to complete a full recovery campus, adding more homes, a road, and a community center, so we can serve twice as many women and children each year.
Every element of our campus is designed to provide a peaceful, purpose-driven environment where mothers can heal, work, learn, and live in community.

Proven Growth of Our Christian Rehab in Greensboro

Built to Last
Today, we serve over 100 people annually through our Residential and Aftercare programs. With the addition of three new homes, a community center, and critical property improvements, we will more than double our capacity, while also improving the quality and scope of services we offer. This includes dedicated spaces for study, play, fitness, and therapeutic support, all within a serene and Christ-centered campus environment.
The revenue from our farm and three thrift store locations plays a vital role in funding daily operations, facility development, and ongoing programming. These sources of income not only strengthen our financial foundation, they provide mothers in recovery with invaluable job training, real-world experience, and a clear path toward economic independence.
As we expand our campus and services, the continued growth of our thrift stores and farm will ensure that Freedom House remains a strong, sustainable ministry, ready to meet the needs of mothers and children for generations to come.
