Volunteer Opportunities

Residential:

• Drivers - Drivers needed daily to transport our families to work, school, and appointments. You can sign up for 1 hour a week or more by responding to the volunteer schedule that is mailed weekly. Drivers not only transport our families, but they serve as very needed role models for them.
• Life Skill Trainers - Professionals are needed in the evenings to share their personal skills with our mothers. Below are just a few examples of areas of need:
• Employment Preparedness
• Computer Skills
• Money Management
• Scrap-booking
• Yard Helpers - Our mothers mow the grass, rake, and work in the yard on Saturdays. They are always in need of an extra set of hands (and tools!) to ensure our yard looks nice for our families and visitors.
• Child Development - Often we need baby-sitters in the evenings so our mothers can attend recovery meetings. In addition, we have many children who would love to have special outings with an approved Freedom House mentor.
• Handy Men - We need men to move and fix things around the house. We also need painters, plumbers, electricians, and carpenters on occasion. **We have a special need for an electrician at this time.

Thrift Store:

We need assistance at our Thrift Store daily. Retail experience is helpful but not required. Design and marketing help is needed in this area as well.

Office: 

We need people with computer experience to help with typing, data entry, other marketing needs, and help with the newsletter.

Others:
